One More Life and Summer Goals

Umm...so, how does the new blogger work?!?!     I tried watching a little informational video and it stressed me out so I'm gonna watch it "another day"!!

About a year ago we decided to switch churches...which required some "church shopping".  We ended up visiting a church several times and just knew that was where we needed to be.   (I have to give my hubs props because he was the one who kept suggesting we go back to this particular place.)  We have joined a couples small group and"plugged in" with some awesome people.

With all that said, our church is planning a future move to a new plot of land.  They planned a BBQ Gala to show off where we will eventually be moving.

As I looked through our closets....I quickly found that we aren't the western couple.  So, when in doubt....    wear plaid.    I think it was so much fun to get in some line dancing, pile on the brisket, and listen to a message.

The wheat field where it's going to be built.
I thought these little centerpieces were so sweet.  One of the reasons we love the church is because they really focus on marriages and families in a really realistic and non judgemental way.  The "One More Life" campaign represents the lives that will be changed by the new location.
BAM!!!    Now, that's a serious tent!   It was amazing!!
Oh yes,   a real longhorn!   I was a little too scared to jump on for a picture...so this is the best I could do...
One night we went out for Mexican with some of our "new" buddies.... and we had some serious laughs.  Ever met someone that had random similarities as you...   Oh,  I've met her.   And I've learned so much from her.    Each Monday night when we meet with our couples group I seriously take something away from each wife and touches my soul...  I feel so connected to them and we all seem to be shamelessly open.  :)
I'm probably the last person on the planet to go to a painting party...    but either way...I finally did it!   I was actually a little anxious that I wouldn't be able to do the "creative" part.  (and I doubted I would finish the picture once I started it!)  I had such a wonderful time...  maybe it was the wonderful girlfriends I went with...      hmmmmm..
Before and After-
I hope we get together and try another painting....  I will actually listen a little more closely next time!!
Not that any of my teacher friends are out there counting down...but..............24 days!!!!   Say what?!?!   I really do miss my sweet kiddos, families, and schedule.....  but I am really looking forward to n-o-t-h-i-n-g. (all you mommas with little babies...  I know you work so hard...   I'm sorry I'm boasting about being lazy!)     I have made a small list of Summer to-do's.   Do NOT hold me accountable...These are just ideas.  That's it.  Nothing more. ***do I even need to thank Pinterest at this point***
1.  If you know me.....  don't pass out in shock.
Weekly Cleaning Schedule
Now, my hubby is a little "particular" about how he likes this vacuumed and dished put away.....So,  I just marked those out.

2.   Again,  I must be out of my mind...  Why am I looking these things up and thinking they look fun?!?!   So not me....but I'm going to go with it!!
Monthly Cleaning Schedule
3.  Clean out closet...rearrange racks.
I don't dare post a before picture of our closet.  I want to put in shelves and add a larger folded clothes area.  Come back to see an update....I am 100% tackling this goal!!

4.  Clean out car.  My car is dirty... I'll admit I have a small closet in the trunk.  How are so many items of clothing ending up in there...     Lesson: take care of my stuff.  I shouldn't neglect my car...it's been good to me.

5.  Organize our cleaning supplies.  Seems like cheap easy ways to change up our usual "throw it under the sink" method.

Whew...I'm a little tired from that post.  What are your "summer goals"?
Any ideas to help me along?

Spring happenings

And this is what our "spring" looks like....

-It's all about the 80's baby!!!   We spent our planning time cutting/tying/decorating shirts.  Oh, how I love these ladies!!    Teachers are insane....but the good kind :)
-It's meeting my girls...and dragging along our hubby's.... to see The Hunger Games.   Holy Katniss!!!  I must say,  the books are a-maz-ing...  and they did a pretty good job telling the story in the theater.  I am not much of a movie goer.  I would rather wait until it comes out on Redbox but the new theaters are snazzy...reservations and everything.   Big time.
Munching on some popcorn with my Peeta...or Gale...depending on what part of the book I'm currently reading...
-Believe it or not....  but I went out for Brunch...like a real adult!   Oh no,  I wasn't shoveling yogurt and blueberries down my throat in 15 minutes just in time to pick up my class up from lunch....I was out in the real world.   Having adult conversation!!!  Kidding-  I love being at school with my sweeties...but it's nice to have a day off with friends and to catch up!  And if you have ever met two girls that can chat....

-Spring is celebrating the Ultimate Sacrifice.  We spent an evening with our nieces and nephews.  This Uncle and Auntie decided to opt out of the regular chocolate and candy Easter basket goodies....and we went with "activities". I'm proud to say I did some $1 shopping to fill these baskets.
Our little lovies...  happy to see some seeds to plant in their garden.
Oh yes,  this lil man is guarding the water guns!
Tank took the football and headed out the door!
Success!!   They spent the evening squirting each other, the grass, the air....and then they pulled a "trick" on me.  Aunt J, Turn Around!!!  Whew...glad these were only full of air.....
So thankful for my sweet pea life....
I know you remember the days when you showered all your love on your pets... well, that's us,   right now!!   These furbabies make our days really sweet.
No joke,  our big boy sits up like a meercat while he watches the birds.  Best. Kitty. Ever.
