Just gotta catch up...

I've been meaning to publish these picts for weeks...     Don't want to forget all the fun!!
We've had some fun this Fall season.  Starting off with WINNING a costume contest at our friend's Halloween party.
We went with Humpty Dumpty and the cow that jumped over the moon.

We went to a few Thanksgiving celebrations....
Little girl was given her first ornament and pair of holiday tights...
We saw her sucking her thumb.....
We have tried out a few new restaurants now that I am eating like a normal person again!
We celebrated Merry Main Street's Christmas Tree lighting ceremony.   It was sooo crowded but tons of fun.
Had time with our loving "trip family" at Top Golf.
We went on our honeymoon and met these guys...decided to celebrate our one year anniversary with them on a beachy trip and have kept in touch by sharing each families praises and triumphs in the past few years.
We made wonderful memories with my in-laws on an evening out to dinner and then to a Christmas show at Prestonwood.  My heart was full after hearing Point of Grace and Kari Jobe sing.  I had permanent goose bumps the entire night!
Oh yes,  we have have built our nursery around this lamp...
Purchased fabric for nursery bedding and curtains.
Ordered this fabric for the chair we picked out.  Can;t wait to rock my sweet little girl when she gets here!
Whew...      That's a zillion pictures...   next up-   the rest of the holiday festivities, nursery progress, and the day I felt like the most loved employee at my school!!!

Bumpy picts and what's new!

Here's a little bumpy update! I'm on my way to 25 weeks and finally feeling great!  No more nausea... but still a few food aversions.

What's new?
1. I have felt her kick for the first time. A-MAZING. Truly a life-changer. To me- it has felt like little thumps or flicks. She is mostly active at night wee hours of the morning. But, If I'm gonna be awake at the 3am by this little girl practicing gymnastic moves..I'll take it and smile.
2. The Mr. and I have officially graduated from Childbirth 101. To be honest... we really liked our instructor and thought she was so informative. We actually looked forward to spending the last 2 Saturdays with her and the other soon-to-be new parents.  One class down 5 more to go)
Did anything scare the crap outta me in class? Yep... tons. But, I have an amazing husband and fabulous OB that I trust. We also went on our hospital tour. The L&D wing of our hospital was recently redone and it is gorgeous! I felt like I was in a 5 star hotel.
3. We have started putting the nursery together. Pretty sure every time I go into her room...I get all teary. It is just how we pictured it. I'll add some pictures soon...we are finishing up the curtains this week.
4.  One of the first questions everyone is asking us...what names are you thinking about?   Uggg.   The Mr. and I think we might have to meet her before we give her a name.  There are a few names that keep coming back to us and sound "right"...  but the next week comes and we are back at square one.    Of course,  we had several boy names we LOVED.....  but never a girl list of Favorites.  In the end,  we can't leave the hospital without giving her a name...  so until then---     my 2nd grade class named her Baby Pumpkin...which changed to Baby Snowflake when we changed the calendar month to December.   So sweet!

Some bump picts...

Thought I should update my bump picts.  I will be 21 weeks this week... so here's Week 13-20.

We had our anatomy scan and Baby H was kicking up a storm!  I'm still waiting to feel this active girl.  When she wasn't kicking me on the sonogram screen...she kept her sweet little legs crossed and practiced sucking her thumb.  Just the most amazing 30 minutes of our lives!

Our next focus...   working on the nursery and deciding what important items (car seat, crib mattress, baby monitor) we need to purchase.   We have purchased a crib, rocker, and curtains this weekend.  Whew....  it was so much fun and I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.   Another praise- my appetite has sorta come back to me just in time for Thanksgiving.  Oh how I have missed you..food.

I'm still getting plenty of snuggles from our kitty babies as well....

I'm excited for this week at school...the kiddos always bring a fun spirit to the classroom the week before a holiday break.  My team and kiddos at work are so positive and loving.  They have made this school year one of my favorites to date.

How we told family....Part 2

My MIL has 3 boys... all in their 30's...   and no grand babies!   Lots of grand-furbabies.....but still waiting for that lil kiddo!  So,  I knew this would be special!

Later in the week we knew that my MIL had to pick up my BIL from the airport.  We thought this would be the perfect time too set up a little decoration for when she returned!  We bought a onsie that said "You're not my grandma. You're my GLAMma!" and we attached it to 3 balloons right by her back door.  We waited in the dining room for her to open the door and see the surprise!  Check it out!

The next 5-7 minutes is mostly screaming and praying.....  it was so fun!  I'm so happy she is getting to experience what she has always dreamed about...  shopping for baby, writing down name suggestions, checking up on me....   it's really opened up our relationship and I'm so thankful for that.

How we told family..... Part 1

Then it was time to plan how to reveal our great news with our parents. We knew we wanted to video each of their reactions. So, we hid our actual video recorder...while one of us held our cell phones and recorded. So fun.

I'll show a different reveal in each post.   Also,  these are just portions of the entire video....   you get the idea!

One night we went to my FIL's for dinner. Since he and my hubs golf almost every week together we knew we had to incorporate it with golfing. So The Mr. decided to write with marker monogram a golf ball that said "You're a grandpa!" We all sat around the table before dinner just catching up and The Mr. started to tell a story about how he almost got a hole in one earlier that week. (true story) But, at the end of the story he told his dad that he wanted to give him the ball as a gift.
This is what the ball looked like:

Here's a quick look at their reaction...

Which led to the perfect photo opportunity!

Up next.....   See how my sweet MIL reacts to her first grandbaby news!

Say cheese...I mean....

I could sit on youtube and watch pregnancy reveals all night.... seeing people genuinely surprised is such a great moment.

We wanted to video tape our bible study friends when they found out our big news!  So, after our Monday night lesson we decided to take a group picture.  The Mr. was in charge of the "gotcha" moment.  He pretended to take a picture and then acted like it didn't take so we needed to take another one.   Then he yelled..."1,2,3....Jenny's pregnant!"
Their reaction was PRICELESS!   I think we went home and watched the video 50 times in a row.

I am in the middle on the bottom row!

We have shared so much with this amazing group of couples.  We have cried, cheered, laughed, and learned so much since we first started meeting last year.

I will post our family reveals in the next several posts.

Coming Soon......

Baby H is expected to be here at the end of March 2013.
We can't keep it to ourselves any longer!

Rewind all the way back to July....   July 19th to be exact!  I woke up really early and took a test, mumbled a lil prayer, and waited.  I seriously thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.  Could that be TWO lines?   When in doubt...pull out the digital!  After the longest 2 minutes of my life...  "PREGNANT" popped up on the screen!  What a blessing!
I wasn't feeling well the night before and I was having trouble sleeping so I asked my sweet hubs to sleep upstairs.  Since he was upstairs I had the perfect opportunity to pull out all the goodies I had stored in the back of the closet just for this special moment.
Several months earlier, I saw the perfect sign, "Prayer makes all things possible".  We have personally seen the power of prayer in our lives over the past few years and with this new chapter we hoped prayed for this sweet baby long before the (+) sign ever showed up on that test.  Over the past year or so, I've read every pregnancy book published.  While searching for a new read over the summer, I found two books geared towards the "new dad".  The Mr. isn't much of a reader....  but he does like to be prepared and if I suggest a book for him to read, he'll usually turn a few pages to make me smile.  The two books I chose to buy and save for "the day" seemed to be fairly short and pretty humorous.  Finally, I made a little onsie with a bejeweled "H" on the front to represent our last name.  Oh-so-sweet!

I grabbed the digital test and attached it to the back of the sign, hid the two books and baby "H" onsie by the front door and found our video camera.  I snuck out the front door and placed the sign in the yard and hid the video camera in some bushes by our sidewalk and then tried to compose myself enough to wake up my honey without him suspecting anything.  I went upstairs and told him something was weird outside and he needed to go check it out.  He jumped up, threw on his some clothes and jetted down the stairs with a worried look on his face. (sidenote: some neighborhood kids egged houses on our street a few nights earlier so he was ready to rumble with those hoodlums!!)  The actual video camera was foggy,  so I'm thankful I also had my phone recording as well.

So, that week we started our weekly belly shots.  The first few months are just pictures of me with no baby bump.  Although,  I did notice that when I took the pictures in the afternoon or evening that I was always bloated a.k.a who cares...at least I was looking pregnant!!  I'll save those picts for snother day and share week 8 and on....

More updates, picts, and videos to come!  We just took our 16 week bump pict a few days ago!!

I figured family and some friends might want the nitty gritty on our baby journey so.....    I'll start sharing all the details here!!

An Instagram Summer

I thought I would post a summary of the summer with Instagram pictures...  then I realized you might think all I do it take pictures of food, my kitty babies, and my sweet hubby....        and then I remembered that is practically all I have done this summer. (with a few extra things here and there)  And it wouldn't be my blog without crazy amounts of pictures....so sit tight!
Told you...my life has a pattern- love, furbabies, food.
Here's some other fun stuff...
My new school will be opening next week...so I will be super busy getting my classroom ready.  Whew...I'm worn out just thinking about it! So, my plan is to relax as much as possible for the next few days.      Teachers...the countdown is on.
