Pure Paradise

Just close your eyes...  imagine paradise. Crystal clear water, soft white sand, and palm trees swaying in the wind.    Guess what?  I've actually been there and this summer I am daydreaming what it would be like to go back.  Enter exhibit 1:  CURACAO

I had never heard of this island until we took a Royal Caribbean Cruise out of San Juan.  Curacao was our last stop.  We literally thought about selling all our possessions and moving there....maybe we still stay up late at night and throw the idea around!!

The Lions Dive is on the most gorgeous beach.  By gorgeous I mean this:

Barely any waves...      aaahhhhh  the pictures don't do it justice!!!
Here is a what a day on the beach looks like for us!
First-  You must pick the perfect spot!   Then you can set up shop!   We liked the furthest spot under the palm tree!

 Next- take the traditional tourist picture!  Smile big because your in PARADISE!

 Follow that up with a little nap.  Not just any nap...a half-floating-half-beached-whale kind of nap!

 After a few "cheers"...take a picture that shows how happy you are to be there! 

 Well....maybe this says how excited you are...    I think we had just had an hour conversation about how we would sell our cars and find a way to ship the kitty babies to be with us!   We didn't want to leave!!!

 We took this picture right before we swam out to the rocks behind us and jumped into the deep clear water!   So refreshing.  Are you hearing island music in your head by now?!

 Go grab some fresh fruit for lunch....maybe "cheers" again....

 Lay out on the sand while you watch your very own hot cabana boy come out of the water....Fabio style!   Teeheee!

This beach is located right next to a dolphin academy...   so sweet!

In all seriousness...if you ever need a relaxing getaway...consider this place.  The beach wasn't crowded...there weren't mobs of kids running around... and the staff was so friendly.   The only "thumbs down" that I could find is that a flight to get there from here takes about 15hrs+.  Yep...you heard me.  They don't have a lot of flights that go in and out so you have to plan it just right so you aren't sitting in a random airport waiting on a layover.  To be honest...you might find something better than 15hrs+.....I stopped searching when The Mr. looked over my shoulder and asked why I was getting my credit card out.   Yikes!    You know I compulsively buy trips without his consent!!!  But...the wonderful wife that I am....I decided to snap back into reality and not hit "confirm flight".  I deserve a medal.  
The reason I brought up this paradise of a place is because it is our 2 year anniversary TODAY.  Yep!  Last year we went to a special restaurant where I had secretly already given them a little cake and our "wishing well" words of wisdom from our wedding shower from the previous year!  It looked a little something like this:

 We stuffed our faces and went home...threw on some pj's and snuggled up with our kitty babies.  I personally don't think the night could have ended any better!!

 The next morning my love surprised me with this beauty.   I wear it every single day!

Then we went home and packed for our Caribbean getaway and headed to the airport!!

Well ladies and Gents...things are a little different this year.  I spent the afternoon in the backyard with my lovely friend...just a bunch of girl talk.

Then The Mr. and I headed over to On the Border.  Seriously.   We are now in a queso coma and I am watching him get totally worked up over some much needed C.O.D time. 

Yeah...he doesn't know I took that picture.  He'd be mortified.     We decided to go low key tonight...as if On the Border didn't clue you in to that detail already :)...   My guy is swapped with work this weekend so we plan on going to our favorite restaurant next weekend.  No worries....I 'm all about staying in and reading while he "protects the country".
