She will be 8 weeks on Saturday.
At our last appointment she was 8 1/2lbs and 21in. Just a little bundle of joy. She ended up getting one shot at her appointment...oh my word...I had waaaay more tears than she did. I almost knocked out the sweet nurse that gave her the shot....STOP HURTING MY BABY! Psycho mom has arrived! I dressed her up obnoxiously cute (see below) hoping the doctor would decide to just waive her shot. Not happening!
I think our sweetie is close to rolling over. She loves looking at herself in mirrors. She "coo's" and makes sweet little noises all day. When she wakes up she looks at me and smiles so big...ahhh..melt my heart. She loves to kick the piano on her play mat and make music.
She is officially wearing 0-3mth clothing now, although a little big. Tear..tear...I miss those preemie and newborn outfits. She loves "studying" her flashcards. We have these cute little black and white animal flashcards....she will seriously stare at these things like she is a zoologist or something!
Sleep: She will sleep for about 3-5 hour stretches at night. We usually only get one 5 hour stretch but ...we'll take it.
Our Routine: We give her a warm bath, rub her with warm lotion, clip on her Snuza, wrap her in a really tight swaddle, turn on her noise machine, rock her, nurse, read a story, and lay her in the crib. We have been putting the heating pad in the crib and taking it out right before we put her down and she loooves it. Since The Mr. does the night time feedings (until around 4ish) he usually puts her in the rock'n'play instead of her crib after he gives her a bottle around 1ish. Knock on wood, she sleeps well anywhere we put her.
During the day: Our sweet pea wakes up for the day around 8 or 9 and go back down for a long nap around 10:30-1:30. I will usually put her in her swing, bouncer, sling, boppy, play mat or hold her to nap. We don't put her in the crib during the day to nap because we try to make day and night different. It is working for us for the most part. After 1:30ish (if we are just staying at home) she will feed on demand, have a cat nap, tummy time, play mat time, practice "standing", lay in the grass in our front yard, go for walks, have play dates, and again, knock on wood.... sweet pea just isn't a crier.
We've had lots of visitors and outings. So far we've been to target, the grocery store a few times alone and with my MIL, cook out for Callie's b-day, brunch dates with just the three of us, family dinner dates to casa ritas with the three of us and also with the Gaddis gang, lunch date at blue goose with the three of us and with lil Piper, mall for walking, hair salon to see my MIL, buy buy baby, in-laws for truth table night, lunch dates with my FIL and MIL at Mr. G's, parks, tupys lunch date with my Second grade team, duck ponds, Mindy's birthday dinner at Glorias, Monday night bible study, FIL's doctor office, and to the elementary school I teach at to visit the staff and kiddos.
Every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday we have been blessed enough to have meals brought to us while we introduce our sweet pea to people that love her to death. These meals have been a Godsend... the stress of figuring out what to eat for dinner was one less thing to worry about. I can't say thank you enough to everyone that has lifted us up the past several months.

sounds like life is good momma! that little angel is precious!
