I've always been a sap for traditional seasonal activities. When I was teaching (that phrase sounds so weird...can't believe I am a real stay at home momma), I looooved teaching about pumpkins, watching short Fall videos, weather changes, telling "creepy" stories, singing songs and ending each day with a Fall/Halloween book. I can't wait to share all of those activities with our sweet pea and make our own memories.
This Fall season has been better than any before... Kiddos bring a whole new excitment to all the small things. Some sweet friends of ours invited us to the Arboretum....It was a gorgeous day! There were so many pumpkins....which meant lots of pictures. I was more than happy testing out our new camera!
My FIL and SMIL invited us to a Halloween party for all the little cousins. Our sweet baby girl got all dressed up as a scarecrow. She was eat-her-up cute! She even let me (barely) draw little stitches on her face. I had to add this picture because all the kiddos were sitting together...just as cute as ever...and all of a sudden Sweet Pea fell backwards. I felt so bad...She sits up great on her own but I think the costume threw her off. Anyways...here she is...flat as a pancake.
Hubby decided the three of us should try out a new pumpkin patch one afternoon. (again, another mini photo shoot.) Our sweet one is starting to pull up on her own...so she was showing off all her new "tricks"!
She is 7 months in this picture and no teeth in sight...but I think we could be getting closer because she keeps flicking her tongue out like this. Or, maybe she just likes sticking her tongue out...either way, too cute!
She can NOT get enough of her daddy and his "adventures".
This is my heart.
We've also been feeding lovie all sorts of food. Her favorite is butternut squash...but she also likes bananas, yogurt, sweet potatoes, s.p. puffs, peaches and drinking water from her sippy cup.
We've had lots of fun days at home...playing with toys,
having stuffed animal parties,
taking walks in the cool air, watching the Cowboy games,
celebrating my friend Luke at his First birthday,
going to the park with Luke and having the cutest meltdown ever,
going back to the park to show the swing how brave I am now,
kissing daddy and letting his prickly beard tickle me,
making kissy faces,
practicing smiling big for picture day at school,
going to the State Fair and seeing the new and improved Big Tex,
getting qt time with Aunt Amy, (thanks for all the clothes!)
visiting daddy, G, and Uncle Teddy on the golf course,
wearing my first set of Halloween jammies,
and pretty much being the biggest blessing in my mom and dad's life.
I've also joined a MOMS group through my church that has been such a breath of fresh air. We meet for official "learning" meetings once or twice a month, have weekly activities and play dates, and moms night out twice a month. It's great to be in the presence of Godly women....that are also REAL. I took Little Miss to a story time play date and she watched a ballerina perform...her eyes lit up and she giggled while she watched her dance.
Something new that H and I have started is Mommy and Me Music class. It is so much fun. We also tried out a Play class but my social butterfly wasn't getting the entertainment she wanted from that class! We go once a week. This month they have done a study on jazz music and next month it will be a Beatles theme. It's so amazing to watch these babies interact with beats and sounds... just brings so much joy to my heart!
Tomorrow is Halloween and I'm not sure our sweetie pie will make it through all the fun....she is soooo ready for bed at 6:00 on the dot. (I am anxious about the time change.... we will survive!) All the kiddos at MDO are dressing up so I bought a cute Halloween outfit that will be easier to move around in while she spends a few hours with her school friends. Obviously, more pictures to come.
I've come to the realization that this is just how my posts are going to look until I make this blog a priority...and to be honest, I have several other things that are a little higher on the lists. :)
