May 2014

May was a fun month for us..we finished off H's first "school year" of MDO, celebrated my birthday, and had several more playdates!
Could I have started out with a more precious picture?!?  Seriously,  these two don't just look like twins they have a bond unlike anything I could have ever dreamed.  It is something that I cherish every single day,  I am so happy to have a little daddy's girl in our home.  Even though I SAH with our sweet pea...we are so blessed that T is also home most of the day,  We were chatting the other day and realized that he has only missed maybe 7 bathtimes,  And we give H a bath very single night.
Well, this sweet girl decided that she would never drink from a bottle or take a paci so the transition to sippy cups totally had me stressing for a few weeks...  I decided to go straight to straws instead of sippys...one less transition.  Wouldn't ya know that she took right to it and loves drinking her water out of her straws!   Now, getting her to take milk is a whole other issue!
One day we stopped by to play with Luke and his water table.  Little missy thought she was made of sugar and did not want to get a drop of water on her.  Oh, dear.
I found the sweetest backpack for next year's MDO so I let H take it to her last few days of school this year.  I don't know if there is anything cuter than an itty bitty that just learned to walk stumble down the sidewalk with a backpack.
This was her LAST day in the infant room.   I'm still tearing up over this.
 First day/Last day
The last few weeks H would get upset when we would pick her up from school...she was having too much fun with her friends...but mostly because she wanted to stay with Miss Sue.  Oh,  Miss Sue.  She needs an entire post just on how blessed we are with her in our lives.  She has been a nana, momma, friend, listener, comforter, encourager, and my go to lady when I was stumped as a new momma.  She loved my little girl all day long...  we never once hesitated when we dropped her off in the mornings because we knew she was getting something so special by this sweet woman.
I swear my hubby is so thoughtful and intentional when it comes to gift giving.  We had just had bathtime and I was coming downstairs form nursing and putting H in her crib for bedtime when I saw a sign on the stairs that said "Your Mother's Day starts NOW".  I was looking looking like a hot mess...let me tell you!   Ty had dry cleaned a few outfits for me to wear....    so sweet.  Becky had snuck over to watch H while My sweet guy took me out for a nice dinner.  We were even able to take the vette out!  It was so special.  I'll never forget how he made me feel.
The weather was beautiful outside so we tried to be outdoors as much as possible.  This is one of the duck ponds in our neighborhood.  We decided to let H have lunch out there and watch all the duckies!
I met a friend from bible study at the park with her sweet girl.  H had just learned to walk so she was still pretty wobbly.
Picnic lunch
We went to one of our favorite little areas and found a spot for lunch one day.  One of the many positives to having my guy home during the day instead of at an office is we usually go grab lunch a few times a week as a family.
My MOPS group met up at a new ice cream parlor and wouldn't you know....I have the only child in America that doesn't like ice cream.    So,  that playdate was a bust!!
We started our "Allen Babies" playgroup.  Can't believe we all met eachother almost 6 years ago... no babies and now there are so many kiddos!  Love this stage in our lives!
We also had days at home...   these can be really relaxing or really cray cray.  I've always tried to have at least one outing every day but on some days it just doesn't happen.
We usually spend the mornings downstairs, middle of the day outside, and the afternoon in the playroom upstairs.
Here's our cutie dreaming about Miss Sue.. just kissing her picture and hugging the book.
We got bored.  So,  I taught H to stick her tongue out.   That's life.
I gave H chocolate pudding one day and she was in looooove.   Just like momma.  We love sweets!
I found some great websites on busy activities for toddlers....   so I decided to try them.  I loved seeing her brain really work.  The teacher in me was in heaven!
We also found a tent on a b/t/s site in May and put it in the living room....wow..   H made it her own little secret space.    The mind of a child....  it is just simply amazing.
Had some water fun on a rainy day.
This basically sums up their relationship.
I was sad that my MOPS table group was over for the year...we went to lunch to celebrate all our fun times.  These girls were perfectly placed.
My sweet friend was expecting her 2nd...  a little boy.   So fun celebrating her!
I took an evening to go watch my precious girls perform in The Little Mermaid.   Oh, the joy these good hearted sweeties give me.
And the joy that this little sweet pea fills my heart up with.... immeasurable.  She surprises us every single day.  I didn't know that every day I would feel God's presence the way that I do now.  It is more than I could desire....just no clue that life offered this type of reward.
Yep,  we didn't think April could get any better,.... and then May happened.
